Mind Gym’s HR function is one of the unique teams in the business who works together globally, to attract, hire, develop and retain the key to Mind Gym’s incredible success – our people.

Just this year our team is tripling in size. As a business we’re growing, but as we team we’re growing even faster. With this, the need for a strong HR presence in the US has risen – an exciting opportunity to lead the charge in advising the US business on all things people.

You’ll use your experience in an HR advisory role in four key people areas in the US: Operations, Strategy, Advice and Development, while also working with the Global HR Manager and UK HR Advisor on global initiatives and projects.

On a typical day, you’ll:

    • Act as the go-to person for all US queries on policies and procedures, benefits, absence, and other HR practices / programs
    • Own all HR administrative tasks relating to US employment changes – producing any required letters, updating internal systems and owning payroll changes and checking process
    • Analyze HR data and create HR monthly metrics report, working with the Global HR Manager to provide narrative
    • Coordinate annual benefits open enrolment process to include planning status meetings, employee communications, and making recommendations to changes to benefits schemes
    • Work with HR Manager to advise line managers on performance management, employee relations, disciplinary, and compensation issues
    • Provide support for all L&D activity including budget analysis, training needs analysis, session planning and scheduling, ROI outcomes
    • Identify and execute on projects within the HR space, including onboarding, performance management systems, HR technology and other improvements
    • Complete engagement Survey analysis, making recommendations aligned with our HR strategy where appropriate

    What you will need:

    • 1-2 years of experience advising in an HR capacity at a fast-paced, entrepreneurial company
    • A spirit to serve – you see employees as your clients and even on the busiest of days prioritize them first (preferably with a smile!)
    • Ambition to tackle new responsibilities paired with the initiative to know when (and how) to push forward
    • Knowing the devil is in the details – you have a keen eye for detail and precision to match
    • A growth mindset – you’re always looking for ways to develop and improve. You seek feedback as much as possible and learn from mistakes along the way
    • Willingness to lean in wherever necessary – you’re not someone who is looking to be bound by a job description
    • Confident and persuasive communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders – you use this to build relationships swiftly at all levels
    • While people are your focus, you are process-oriented and leverage skills and tools like excel to make the most of the data you are constantly collecting
    • A broad understanding of US state and federal law – especially around healthcare legislation, 401k requirements, immigration issues, etc

    What we will deliver:

Mind Gym became a PLC in 2018 and with that, a commitment to finding and serving the best-in-class talent in our space. Talent is at the top of our leadership’s agenda and they have dedicated incredible resources, energy and support to help us thrive – hence our exponential growth this year. You’ll be working in partnership with our senior leaders as we continue to shape our people strategy moving forward.

This role is also the first of its kind in the US. You will have the opportunity to not only shape your own career in HR, but also to shape the people function of our business. You will be the first POC for US managers to go to for all things people and you’ll be an integral resource in getting each team performing at their highest.

You’ll also be working for a global, leading expert in the field of human capital. We’ve got teams dedicated to empowering the workforces of FTSE100 and F500 companies – and you better believe they will be a resource for you to learn from and leverage for all people initiatives. We promise you’ll learn from the best as long as you’re willing and we’ll challenge, stretch and support you along the way.
