Personal effectiveness

Be better.

Research reveals that in high performing companies, employees consistently demonstrate greater competence in areas such as goal setting, time management and emotional intelligence. Personal effectiveness is a critical part of development.

Personal effectiveness training often fails to deliver. Why? Standard programmes are force-fitted with little focus or thought about which specific skills need to be developed for the organisation or the individual.

How to create a legacy of continuous development with no up-front investment

Personal effectiveness - an overview

We’re not necessarily born with all the skills required for the role we’re in. A technical expert might lack the skills required to manage a project or manage a team. A young team member might need help in gaining presence. A new manager might struggle with delegation.

The challenge will be different in every business and for each individual. We know that the best results in business are achieved when the responsibility for high performance is taken by both the manager and the individual contributor.

Personal effectiveness is about the individual taking some responsibility for their own performance.

What's keeping you from your A-game

There are two obstacles to overcome when addressing personal effectiveness. The first is that the skills that need to be developed will be different depending on the organisation and the individual.

The second is that to develop individuals, they must believe that it’s in their best interest to stand up, listen, and change.

How to apply it

For the best results, organisations need to be able to deploy the right training, for the right person, at the right times.

Whether it’s learning how to better organise the day, prosper through change or develop writing skills, MindGym can engage with employees and help them be more effective at work.
