Tricky people

By understanding why an awkward or difficult person is acting as they are, we can deal with them positively, and also in a beneficial way.

Participants will:

  • Refine their antennae for spotting tricky behavior and identifying the motives behind it
  • Consider the range of different approaches they can take to dealing with tricky behavior and what the consequences of each are likely to be
  • Become familiar with the most frequent types of tricky meeting participant and so know what to expect and how to deal with them
  • Practice a range of tactics to manage trickiness in meetings (using content, body language and straightforward facilitation processes)
  • Plan how to manage a particular tricky person who is on their mind
